Update: Raging Bull Series: Spring Edition 2019

I wanted to give everybody a small update on the 1st Raging Bull Series which is happening on the 25th of May in Amsterdam. Check out all information about the tournament in my earlier post.

Live Stream

By far the best news is that we will have a live stream during the event! Thomas, who goes by the name of Timmy The Sorcerer on Twitch and YouTube will provide the stream (assuming the internet connection works). He tested this out during the Northern Paladin Cup, I didn’t had high expectations but it was really great. There won’t be any live commentary during the event but we will do our best to provide a stream which can be followed by the viewers at home.

After the event, matches will be uploaded with commentary by Timmy on YouTube. Check out some of his video’s on YouTube here: https://www.youtube.com/c/timmythesorcerer

Participants

Currently we are at 30(46 by now) participants and sign-ups opened only 1 month ago. Since this is the first 100% Swedish legal tournament in the Netherlands I didn’t know what to expect and anything above 20 would have been great. A gathering of 30 wizards already sounds like a decent tournament, sign-up if you don’t want to miss it by sending an e-mail to ragingbullseries@gmail.com

Side-Event

After 5 rounds of Swiss we will have a Top 8. For those who don’t make the Top 8 we will have an Old School Pauper Side-Event. The same rules apply as for the main event, except that only common cards are allowed. To check out which cards are common, please use this list: Old School Pauper Legal or check out what the rarity for a card is (make sure to select the right set!) at http://gatherer.wizards.com/ The entry for the side event is free. I’m hoping to get 8 players for a nice 3 rounds of Swiss. Worste case scenario there are only a few people and you can just play same casual “Pauper” games.

Friday evening casual meetup

For those people coming from far/abroad, staying 1 or more nights in Amsterdam might be a great option. I’ve already had some questions about this and I’m down for some casual games on Friday evening. Please let me know if you are interested to join as well, some playtesting for the next day or playing some fun formats/decks sounds great!

Raffle

The best prizes will be awarded during the Raffle. Don’t expect anything big, just some fun cards and a Booster Pack of The Dark! You get 1 Raffle Ticket for joining the tournament and 1 Raffle ticket for each (English) Raging Bull you donate to the organisation. So bring your Raging Bulls and get ready to win some fun prizes or a The Dark Booster (opening is always priceless).

Started playing in 1995 when Ice Age was launched and quit playing in 1999 since I didn't like the fast rotation of cards. When I heard about Old School Magic in 2017 I returned to the scene and now I'm spending way to much time on Magic, loving it all the way!
